Study on one’s own easy for home-schoolers
Entering the arena of higher education is a challenging experience for any student who is graduating from high school. When the student is educated in a home-schooled environment, the challenges become greater.
Meet Annie Tanger, a senior at Indiana University South Bend who finished high school when she was 17 years old.
“When I graduated high school, it became clear to me that I was not going to have an easy time entering college. I was home-schooled, and like most students who are home-schooled, I graduated before I turned 18 years of age, therefore I was not able to earn a GED nor did I have a high school diploma. I had completed all that I needed to in order to complete my four years of high school, and had done very well in all of my studies. My difficulty came in the fact that I did not have a diploma.
