College has niche appeal
Belhaven College President Roger Parrott dips into a growing pool of prospective students other college recruiters might overlook. He recruits students taught at home.
Last fall, 19 percent of freshmen at the Christian liberal arts college — 32 of 167 — were home-schooled, significantly more than many other Mississippi colleges and universities.
In contrast, just five of 1,759 freshmen entering Mississippi State University last year and four of 3,130 at the University of Mississippi were home-schooled. Read more…
