Homeschool Students transition into college
The transition from homeschool to college campus isn’t as rough as some people believe, say students who have made it.
And students educated at home are just as prepared academically and socially as their counterparts from public schools, homeschool advocates say.
‘I had the same concerns any parent sending their child off to college has,’ said Terry Colbert of Fort Collins, who homeschooled his daughter, Sarah, from first through 12th grade.
‘But I was not worried that she wasn’t prepared for it’ socially or academically, he said. ‘In a lot of ways, I felt more confident in her ability to handle college.’ Read more…
