Homeschool advocates say their students are learning and they can prove it.
Although Colorado public school students take the Colorado Student Assessment Program, or CSAP, tests annually in third through 10th grade, homeschool students are required to be evaluated only every other year, beginning in third grade.
Passed in 2000, the federal No Child Left Behind Act requires all public schools to implement annual student assessments and show adequate student achievement progress on those assessments. But there is no clause for homeschooled students. Read more…
