Opinions differ over testing scores for homeschoolers

Standardized tests are part of a student�s life whether they are taught at home or public school. The tests and standards Oregon requires of each group differ, however.

The state requires both groups to take tests in third, fifth, eighth and 10th grades. Homeschool students must take an achievement test that is “nationally normed” to compare a student�s performance with that of a sample group from across the country.
