Chicago Suburb: Home-school kids can play

Another schoolboard decides to allow homeschooled kids to participate in after-school activities… with some restricitons.

ROMEOVILLE � Reversing an old policy, the Valley View School Board agreed Monday night to allow home-schooled students to participate in after-school activities.

Illinois law allows each school district to decide whether to allow home-schooled students to participate in extracurricular activities. At one time, the Valley View School Board voted not to allow home-schooled students to participate, Superintendent Phillip Schoffstall said. Read more…
