Homeschooling by the numbers in RI

An FYI. But if you live in RI you probably already knew that.
Home schooling is not only alive and well in Rhode Island, it’s apparently booming in the Chariho School District.
State figures for the 2004/2005 school year indicate there are 88 home-schooled children at Chariho. That’s the largest number of home schoolers in any of the 35 districts in the state tallied by the Department of Education.
Of the state’s four regional school districts, Chariho’s count is still twice the number of home schoolers enrolled in the second highest regional district, Exeter-West Greenwich district, which has 41 home-schooled students. Read more…
