Homeschoolers everywhere are ready for the next geography bee.
They’ve got a far piece to go from Tierra del Fuego to nationals. But the nine homeschoolers who competed in the first level of the National Geographic Bee in Rose Valley last week learned patience, pronunciation and just how wide the world really is.
In the chilly hall of the Rose Valley Grange, 11-year-old Rachel Masters of Kelso took first place and earned the right to take a monitored test that might qualify her for the state-level contest this spring. Read more…
