Home scholars can skip WASL
I don’t live in Washington but I hear the WASL is dreaded by all. Although homeschoolers don’t have to take it, they are put in a difficult position. If they don’t take it, it counts against the school district.
Pam Erickson isn’t wild about the WASL, but unlike other parents, she doesn’t have to worry about whether or not her kids will get a state high school diploma.
She already knows they won’t.
Erickson, who lives in Custer, homeschools her daughters, so they aren’t required to take the Washington Assessment of Student Learning. The girls will get their diplomas from home, not the state. Read more…
