After meeting the miserable substitute Ms. Viola Swamp, the misbehaving children of room 207 experience a sudden appreciation for their missing teacher, the kind hearted and sweet natured Miss Nelson. My children adore this funny picture book! Should they ever show even a hint of mischievousness in our home-school, the mere mention of Ms. Swamp’s name produces a giggle and a change in conduct. A word of caution for your younger readers, Ms. Swamp looks like a witch. Though it is obvious later in the book she was in disguise, her appearance might scare a sensitive child.
