New Homeschool flavored search engine

HomeschoolBuzz.com is launching a Homeschool flavored, Google custom search engine. What is homeschool flavor? Some say it tastes like chicken but it's actually a Google custom search limited to only homeschooling related sites and pages. You can search hundreds of homeschool sites, blogs, articles, vendors and resources to get search results with a homeschool focus.

If I left out some of your favorite sites, it was unintentional. I can only add a site if I know about it. I want them ALL! That's where you come in...
Leave a comment to tell me about the homeschool sites I missed. Better yet, you can also Volunteer to contribute and add to the list of sites yourself. I'm sure there are hundreds of them. The only requirement is that the site is homeschool focused or an educational resource that could be used by homeschoolers. The list is not limited by politics, religion or educational philosophy, only topic. (Search for the site's name to see if it's included.)
Homeschool Search plug-in
I also implemented a search plug-in for Firefox or ie7.
Google provides a way you can put the search box on your blog or site or add it to your Google homepage (iGoogle).
Try it out. Tell me what you think.

I added ha-nc. Actually, the whole topic of support groups is a good one. I should add a huge list of local and national groups.

haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but cool! or kewl, rather.

This new search might be really useful. It will be fun to watch it develop and grow.

Maybe add two sites by a homeschool mom.
http://www.abasiccurriculum.com/homeschool/
Homeschool RAQ

and

Huge list of Latin and Greek Roots online also by homeschool mom:

Buncha Roots

I just added abasiccurriculum.com/homeschool/ and everything under homeschool including /roots.

Keep the suggestions coming and volunteer to help.

www.bridgebuilderacademy.com is a home-school school in Plano, TX that sends state certified teachers to students in their homes using home-school curriculum!

http://www.fltnc.com
http://www.ncunschoolers.com

A cool homeschool forum: http://homeschool-talk.com/index.php.

The homeschool search engine is a great idea! Please make sure www.knowledgehouse.info is on the list of searched sites. It contains over 600 pages of original homeschool articles and helpful resources, all written and maintained by a homeschool mom.

I've been adding most (if not all of the links inthese comments. Keep them coming!
I also welcomed 3 volunteer contributors. Thanks.

Sorry Gary, I was unable to log in the page said I was not authorized access to that page, so I will try to contribute this way.

Carolina Biological web site

As an HSB blogger I was intrigued to see homeschooljournal.org, and clicked to the site. It redirects to http://www.applytoschools.com/. Is this correct?? Or is the HSJ site out of commission?
Thanks,
Sally

Oops, I meant to say we included homeschooljournal.NET which is a homeschool focused blog platform. I do not have homeschooljounral.org in the list because (as you pointed out) it redirects to some other site.
I corrected the reference on our about page.

http://momisteaching.com Is a good homeschooling support blog

Please add www.love2learn.net

Thanks much!

Good job! One site to add:

dandelionhomeschoolcottage.com

I just opened a home school consignment curriculum and educational materials store.

Thanks people. I've been adding sites as you bring them to my attention.

BOYCOTT SUBWAY!!!!! They are not allowing homeschoolers to enter in a competition open to ALL other children in ANY school, including "regular" private schools. This is the letter I've sent to Subway.:

I see that you are having a competition for elementary children submitting stories to subway.

"Contest is open only to legal US residents, over the age of 18 with children in either elementary, private or parochial schools that serve grades PreK-6. No home schools will be accepted".

For you that are not aware, homeschooling IS a private school, with the same legal rights as a "regular" private school. What you are doing is downright wrong. I'm sure you're aware of the following:

According to the National Home Education Research Institute…

“There were an estimated 1,700,000 to 2,100,000 children (grades K-12) home educated during 2002-2003 in the United States. Homeschooling appears to still be the fastest-growing form of education.”

This was FIVE years ago, and believe me, it is a MUCH bigger number now. So I'll just let all homeschool sites know that we are not welcome in subways, as we don't really count, and we'll make sure our families and friends know the same thing. Since we're not good enough for your competition, then you're not good enough for our business. The internet is an amazing thing; you can get SO much information out so quickly. A copy of this letter to all the big homeschool sites will get the word out to all the people who you choose to ignore in your competition, and that we need not patron your stores. Thank you for your time in reading this letter, I guess Quiznos is THE place to be!

PLEASE copy and paste this to EVERY homeschool site you know, and if you would, write your own letter at subway.com. Our children deserve to be in any competition other private schools are allowed in!

Here's my homeschool site with lots of free worksheets and some great products!
