In this conclusion to the "Ember" saga, Lina and Doon obtain a mysterious book that prompts their return to their old city of Ember. Once into the city, they stumble on some unexpected "hurdles" which include a family of roamers, which of course puts a damper on their plans. Doon gets taken prisoner, and learns about the "Diamond of Darkhold" the roamers have in there possession. Lina manages to escape with plans to bring back help. Read more...

Based on his A to Z list of conservative principles he posted on his website, this book details Phil's plainspoken conservative ideas and what led to his convictions. He uses anecdotes, quotes and data to build his case. Leaning conservative myself, I found it reaffirming and compelling to see how the author arrived at his conclusions and the logic behind his arguments. Read more...

In this sequel to Big Red, Danny Pickett and his father Ross live in a cabin on the Wintapi estate of Mr. Haggin to help him raise Irish setters for hunting and show. After Big Red was injured while killing the bear Old Majesty, Danny and Ross own him, but his mate Sheila and their four puppies still belong to Mr. Haggin.
