German courts continue to target homeschooling families

Homeschooling families in Germany continue to face persecution.

In Germany, it is against the law to homeschool. Any parent caught doing so faces stiff fines and the potential loss of his or her children. Despite such harsh penalties, many families still make the decision to homechool.

Mike Donnelly is an attorney with the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), which is based in Virginia. He says one German family, the Schmidts, have had a lien placed on their house because of unpaid fines totaling thousands of dollars. They are facing a court date later this month. Read more…
