Homeschoolers start their own sports teams

Too old to continue playing for the Winfield Recreation Council’s team, he decided to enroll at South Carroll High School, where he could join the junior varsity football team.

Werking, the first of six siblings to attend public school, spent the first semester of his sophomore year there before realizing the setting wasn’t for him.
