Bella and Finny are two beautiful poodles that star in a series of educational books for young children. These very photogenic dogs pose in amusing and entertaining ways to capture a little one’s attention while teaching them some basic need to know facts.
All the books are bright and cheery – the dog’s photos are nice and big, and so is the accompanying text. In opposites, the poodles teach the meaning of dark/light, asleep/awake, big/small, hot/cold, sweet/sour, etc. In Shapes, Bella and Finney teach the most common shapes, and add in some additional ones such as hexagon, diamond and crescent. The dogs are posed in such fun ways- standing in the rain, washing dishes, and even washing the car! Lastly, in the title Counting, the poodle pair teach counting facts 1-10. These books are really a treat, and I have no doubt toddlers and pre-schoolers will enjoy them and will learn some important educational concepts at the same time. This series is Dove family approved and the dogs have celebrity status – besides having their own series of books they’ve appeared in Woman’s World Magazine, and the Times Union of Albany, NY.
Thanks to the author for providing me with review copies of all the above titles.
