Homeschooled student headed to West Point

TEMECULA —- Joe Lambert has a driving force in his life, he wants to keep his country free.
With that as his goal, Lambert will soon be headed to West Point, N.Y., where he has been accepted into the United States Military Academy.
Lambert, 18, of Temecula, has not traveled a traditional path through high school. He has been home schooled through Sierra Springs Christian Academy, a home school group associated with Calvary Chapel School in Murrieta.

Homeschoolers, Air Force conduct mock trial

Twelve Bolling area homeschoolers participated in a mock trial held by the 11th Wing Judge Advocate at Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals courtroom here April 27.
The goal of the mock trial, State of Italia v. Gepetta, was to introduce the homeschoolers to the legal process. The children also learned about the military justice appeals processes, other legal jobs in the Air Force and met with several judges. Read more…

Marines lift limits on homeschoolers

A policy shift from Marine Corps Recruiting Command has eliminated limits on the number of home-schooled applicants the Corps can enlist by placing them in a higher tier of recruitment eligibility, according to a March 22 announcement command officials sent to the Home School Legal Defense Association exclusively.Read more…
