Get the Widget

The Homeschoolbuzz Blog Buzz widget diplays an animated list of the ten most recent headlines from contributing homeschool blogs.

Now available in 11 different colors. Choose the color below to preview the widget and then copy the code in the box to paste in your blog's sidebar.

Blogspot

If you have a blogger blog hosted on blogspot, you can:

• Copy the code above.
• Log-in to your blogger dashboard.
• Choose the layout tab for your blog.
• Choose the Add Gadget link on the layout.
• Choose HTML/JavaScript as the type of gadget.
• Paste the code in to the "Content" part of the form. (The "Title is optional and will appear on your blog above the widget.)
• Save the widget, then save the layout change.

It should now appear on your blog. By the way, the layout elements are draggable to change their position in the column.

Wordpress

If you host your wordpress blog on your own domain, this widget should work just fine. However, I've been told that blogs hosted on Wordpress.com or Wordpress.org do not allow iframe widgets. (It won't hurt to try it if you're not sure if your blog allows this. We may find a way around this soon.)

Again, if you have your own domain, you should have no trouble following these steps:

• Go to your wp-admin dashboard and click on the Design tab, then click on Widgets.
• In the list of widgets, scroll down to the Text widget and click Add.
• On the right column, you should see a Text widget appear. Click on Edit and paste the code above in the box.
• Click Change to save the widget and Save Changes to update your blog template.

That's it! Visit your blog to see the change.

Typepad

Typepad has a different way to create widgets that involves me getting a developer key and all that. I tried several times to apply for a key and their site doesn't seem to be working. Sorry.
